I asked you all for advice on digital cameras a couple of weeks ago and
received many helpful answers. I went all over Las VEgas last weekend and
finally found a guy who could tell me everything imaginable about
digitals. He said that the Sony Mavica was the hot spot a couple of years
ago and it cornered the market because of the floppy easy access thing and
that they didn't keep up and it's now the poorest choice as to features,
size, flexibility. He recommended the Nikon cool-pix which ranges from
around $500 to $1000. Great little features--much sophistication--twice
the resolution--can come with optical zoom. The thing to remember is that
like all tech stuff--they will be antiquated in a couple of years. Also I
wondered about resolution--the good ones (digitals) are around 1600---a
35 mm camera gives resolution of around 35,000. Some way to go, eh?
