Thanks to everyone for the 10 minute lesson ideas for Parents' Weekend. I
didn't make a final decision about what to do until this morning, and I
opted to do the upside down drawing with them. I talked briefly about
right/left brain function and how this technique is one way to break through
the "I can't draw" syndrome that starts to hit in adolescence.

10 minutes wasn't really enough time, but I had some pleasantly surprised
parents when they turned the paper over to see their results!

After a full day of teaching yesterday, followed by individual conferences
until 8:30 last night, and then 5 "classes" today along with a dozen
"informal" conferences, I'm exhausted! BUT I feel I made a good impression
on many of these parents, and scored some points for the art program, in
general.
