Hi, my name is Lee Ann, and I am the Art teacher from Queens Creek
> Elementary School in eastern North Carolina. After being hit with
> hurricanes Bertha, Fran, Bonnie, and Dennis in the last few years we
> know what it means to receive help from others. Even though the
> hurricanes left damage, we have never seen anything like the damage
> flooding that hurricane Floyd brought about. Most people think this
> flooding happened to those on the coast, but it was over one hundred
> miles inland that received the worst damage. Many people have lost
> their lives as well. We were lucky in our small town of Swansboro,
> a few shingles here and there came down. Our neighbors to the north
> weren't so lucky. Our school has adopted Princeville Montessori
> grades pre-K-3, and Pattilo Elementary School, grades 4-5. These
> schools were totally destroyed and will operate out of temporary
> buildings for most of the year. These schools are in a low income
> and the families have tremendous needs. I am going to paint faces at
> local festival this weekend with 1/2 proceeds going to these schools
> art supplies. The schools need books to rebuild the library,
> instructional supplies, notebooks, crayons, markers, glue, fiskar
> scissors, umbrellas (students and staff will be going to
> battery operated clocks and batteries, glue guns and sticks, among
> other things. Please respond to myself, Lee Ann Kitzmiller
> (leeann), or Joe Webb, (910-326-5115) the principal
> Queens Creek Elementary if you are interested in helping. Thank you,
> Lee Ann
