If You use steel wire you can fire it in the kiln or nichrome wire. You can
also use toilet paper tubes and newspapers. It is smoky and might set off a
smoke detector. Needs to be well-ventilated and it's not the greatest thing
to do to your kiln but working 12 inches isn't too bad.
