Here's an idea that a few of our elementary schools use to create family
involvement. They chose a pattern to Xerox (in your case it could be a big
"75" in outline numbers). Each child gets one and is instructed to fill it
any way that they can think if. Some just color, some use magazine collage,
cereal colored sand, flower petals, m&m's . You get the idea. It is billed
a family project so that kids and parents do it together. Then you get a
whole school-wide display of beautiful unique 75's.
You could award the most beautiful. Most delicious, the heaviest. Don't tell
the categories before hand, so they are not trying to win a specific thing.
It has been successful with ties, hearts, holiday trees, leaves. Thus no
infringement on your curriculum and each class puts them up. You could
local government officials or supermarket managers or police and fire
fighters to be judges, Get a real P.R. coup out of it !!!!! Enjoy, Chris :)
