On the subject of class schedules, etc.....

I teach in 2 schools....Friday is the split day when I am in both schools.
I teach about 550 students a week(k-5) and have six 42 minute classes a day
with the exception of kindergarten. The 4 Kdg. classes I have are 21
minutes long.
On class size....the smallest has 14 students...the largest is 22. The
average would be about 18. I have one 42 minute prep each day.

As far as duties go..... I have a 15 minute morning recess duty every Tuesday
and Wednesday. About 12 hours of duty a year, down from 25 hours when I first
started.

On technology in the art room....I am fortunate to have 4 iMACS in each of my
art rooms. I have a color printer at one school and am still waiting for one
at the other school. There is also a 31" TV with VCR mounted in the corner
of the rooms as well as phones. All of the computers have Internet access.
This is the end phase of our system's five-year $4.1 million upgrade of
classroom technology and curriculum. (There are 1,500 new computers in the 6
elementary schools, middle school and high school.)

I am VERY lucky and LOVE my job.
