Jackson Pollock group painting

Our fall festival is October 30. Various groups set up booths/activities
and charge 25 cents. I was thinking of having our middle school art club
set up a "canvas" of plywood prepared with a coat of latex house paint,
then letting participants pay for water balloons filled with paint to
throw at the canvas - a la Jackson Pollock. Maybe charge 50 cents for
black, silver or gold. Sound stupid? I tried it on my garden shed. My
eight year old son thought it was cool. I mixed liquid tempera with
water(to get the fullness and weight) in the water balloon. Any
modifications or considerations I may not have thought of?

With plenty more ridiculous ideas,
