Hi Lisa -- My 3rd graders really get into this (it takes about 8 class
lessons ...) -- they get flat burlap (approx 7" x 16", draw a design on
upper half (we relate it to Native American design...), use blunt needles
and 4-ply yarn to sew the design (teaching them knots, and all that jazz),
then they sew up the sides and add a drawstring and they have a pouch.
High schoolers tell me they still have theirs ..
