Theme: Art from recycled products

5 artworks that we have chosen:

-"'Caparena' Figures by Clarence and Grace Woolsley - Lincoln, Iowa,
1960s-1970s

These figures are composed of bottle caps, wood, and wire, and stand up right
with long legs, square bodies, straight stubby arms, and a round head with
short ear-like protrusions on either side of the head.

-"Mickey Mouse" by Ray Cyrek - Homosassas Springs, Florida, c. 1990s

This figure is composed of pull tabs, and is a simple human form that stands
up right and waves at the viewer, with large ears and a cowboy hat.

-"Memory Jar" (artist not listed) - USA, early 20th century

This round "jar" is composed of glass, compostition dough, metal, plastic,
glass, and wood objects, and gilt. It contains recognizable parts such as
scissors and a spring.

-"Overall Quilt" - Patchwork by Arbie Williams, Quilted by Rose R. McDowell -
Oakland, CA 1992

This piece is composed of scraps of fabric and overalls. The overalls provide
a focal point, surrounded by fabic border designs.

-Trunk (artist not listed), possibly Missouri, c.1930

This piece is composed of wood, fabric, and bottle caps, and is the typical
trunk style. The exterior is covered in a pattern of bottle caps in rows.
