>>>>Question for Christine - if you are working with students who identified
as gifted in the visual, non-verbal category, how come you aren't
letting them paint a mural?<<<<<

TIME is the simplest answer. I teach 25 classes a week. Also, one of the
murals we are documenting is one that I did work on with student help (that
was painted several years ago over 4 weeks, 8 hours a day, during the summer).
They boy who did the most work on it is getting his degree in Art Education
next semester!
This is the first time my principal has allowed me to participate in this
gifted program. Our school is pushing integration of all areas of learning,
with a high emphasis on developing vocabulary and writing skills. I hope it
will lead to more support for technology in the art classes.... I have lots of
dreams, and the Mac LCIII computer in the art room simply cannot do much.
