Greetings:
When the first message about Mark Kistler came online, I was bothered by the fact that his name sounded familiar, but the Draw Squad was not. I kept thinking that he must be that wonderful art teacher I had watched for several years on PBS. So I initiated a search.

Eureka! Mark is that fantastic art teacher. His show was called "Imagination Station". Our PBS station in Topeka showed it everyday for several years, and then they dropped it for "Pappyland". Yeah! There is an art ed show called "Pappyland".

I really like Mark's work for several reasons... His use of the 12 Renaissance Words to teach drawing concepts is excellent. These lessons are great for science and math integration, as well as reading and writing.

I looked around and found Mark's website. You can order the videos (over 180 30 minute shows), books, and other cool stuff. Amazon.com is selling his books at about half the price at Mark's website, but I didn't see any videos listed.

"In addition to hosting Mark Kistler's Imagination Station, Mark also hosted The Secret City(65 episodes), The Draw Squad (three-part home video) and The New Secret City Adventures. He has been a featured guest on Nickelodeon's Outa Here!"

"...In these new episodes, Mark will once again teach kids to draw in 3-D using his "Twelve Renaissance Words," while telling imaginative stories that involve space, futuristic cities, deep sea creatures and medieval legends. The new shows will also feature examples of both hand-drawn cell animation and computer animation. In addition to the drawing segments, Mark will proudly display the drawings sent in from kids in such diverse places as Guam and Nigeria where his shows have aired..."

I have listed some other information I found on a brief search for the PBS shows.
