Hello to all,
I love nat'l geographic and use them in my room. However, I generally take them apart and laminate those images that are useful. This also keeps the students from tearing them up or marking on them. A funny story:
The other day one my students was looking through life magazine (an old one)that happened to be about rituals. She came across a boy being circumcised, a girl too, and many others, but the one that I suppose embarassed her the most was one of a group of women sitting around a fire with their breasts exposed. It was some kind of milk purifying ceremony for breastfeeding...Anyway to ease her unease I said "You know all those billboards around town about milk?" She said "yes", I said "Could you see it if they put that one up along with the slogan Got Milk? she laughed and laughed, for days.
