It seems to me just the nature of a test does not lend itself to art.
The gifted kids at our school district are basically given an IQ test.
High scores are considered gifted. This totally bums me out. I have
Learning Disabled kids that were more visual and artistic then any "test
taker". I was a kid who struggled academically, yet at art I excelled.
I consider it my duty to find those kids and encourage and enrich their
art experience. I too believe every child has a gift. It is up to us
(all teachers) to find it and nurture it. Heres! to academic under
achievers and their gifts!

If there is a test for giftedness in art I would like to hear
about it.
