Maggie-
THANK YOU. I would love to debate the subject with anyone who want to debate
with me. My week was extremely difficult, but no different than any other
week; yet I go back to the same school, year after year after year. I would
be less than human if there were days I wish I wasn't there. Somehow, if I
left, I would miss the kids terribly. (Crazy, isn't it?) I used to work in
Cabrini Green Housing projects in Chicago. I used to duck the bullets as I
ran for my car after work. Should we teach them art, as you asked.?
Yes...and no. They are no easy answers. I search for meaning to what I
do...and I still do not know . I can't remake the world.
