Hi All,
While we are into our true confessions about tastes in art...
It took me YEARS to appreciate french impressionism. I thought it
was too wimpy and nicey-nice. Now I really like (most) of it and can
appreciate the radicalism of the movement in light of what the
predominant movement was in the 1880's.
By the way, as a surrealist mixed media sculptor, my inspirations
have been Antonio Gaudi, Bosch, Dali, Man Ray, Kahlo (repulsive
subject matter and all :-) ) and the Watts towers!!
