Picasso's contribution to the art world was tremendous. He was the originator
of Cubism ( along with Braque) and one of the first artists to create
abstractions of reality. I'm sure that if you looked at every piece of art
from any artist there would be good and bad pieces in the eyes of the
beholder. I look at Picasso's work as a lesson in design and spacial
development, yes, some are horrid but many are sheer genius that I can look at
for a long time.

When I teach Cubism in my Art 3/ Juniors/H.S., They are skeptical at first but
soon realize about the skill it takes to create the compositions and design of
Cubism.. They see that Picasso was truly gifted in this style. As for
Picasso's treatment of women, that is terrible and unfortunate that he is
tarnished in this regard however in regards to his work, I still respect him.
