There are a few tantalising references in books on Escher about his
interests in musical notation. Also, Doris Schattschneider has
reminded me that the composer Rudolf Escher (1912-1980) was (?) a
cousin of MCE's - does anyone know anything about HIM?
Finally, a 1953 flute solo written by Rudolf Escher is called "Air
pour charmer un lezard" - thus (?) reflecting the other Escher's
infatuation with such reptiles.
Any information on any of the above gratefully received.
