Sara,
In response to your question about art projects surrounding endangered
species, I have several which have been real sucessful for me.
The students go to the library and research endangered species and pick
one or two to focus on in their art work. They do a scratch art project
(which allows for all the details of the fur, etc) in which they are to
create a background which is suitable for their animal. They then do a
linoleum print and a styrafoam print (one emphasizing mass and the other
line). They print these in many ways. Then we do group prints of all
the animals which make wonderful displays in the hall. A quilt could be
done but I havent taken it that far. Hope this helps. Teresa
