Yes, this is spam!
Re the query about DBAE--this note provides a perfect opportunity to
announce that the Getty Education Institute will be publishing a new
guide to DBAE in December. The book is called Learning in and through
Art: A Guide to Discipline-Based Art Education. It's a thoroughly
updated version of the DBAE Handbook published 5 years ago, and is
written by Stephen Mark Dobbs, former senior program officer at the
Getty. It will sell for $20 and orders can be placed through the Getty
Trust Distribution Center (800/223-3431). Shipping is $3 for the first
book and $1 for each additional book.

There's also lots of information on DBAE on ArtsEdNet,
http://www.artsednet.getty.edu

While I'm mentioning new publications, I'd like to note that the Getty
Education Institute has a number of new complimentary publications. Of
most interest to this group is Using ArtsEdNet, a 16-page brochure that
provides strategies for using ArtsEdNet and the Internet. Also available
is a 24-page executive summary of The Quiet Evolution by Brent Wilson.
The summary provides an overview of the key findings of the seven-year
evaluation of the regional DBAE institutes partially funded by the
Getty. Finally, copies of an insert in Educational Leadership produced
by the Getty are available. This insert, "Arts Education for Life and
Work," will appear in the November issue of Ed Leadership and reports on
the conference held earlier this year on educating for the workplace
through the arts. Copies of any of these three publications may be
obtained by writing to the Getty Education Institute, 1200 Getty Center
Drive, Suite 600, Los Angeles, CA 90049-1683.
