The Department of Defense Dependents Schools requires one year of teaching
experience. Back in '92 when I was looking to teach overseas, fresh out of
college like you, my only chance seemed to be the Peace Corps, since I didn't
have much in the way on teaching experience. I was told that there were
opportunities in Africa at that time...mostly to teach utilitarian-based
arts. I ended up staying in the states, and I'm glad I did for those first
years of teaching experience. Now I'm looking to teach overseas again, and
these are the organizations I am working through, if they are of any help:
Search Associates, International Educators Cooperative, Friends of World
Teaching, DoDDS, (as mentioned above) and International Schools Services.
Good luck to you......................................Dawn Malosh, Tucson,
