in return for everybody's ideas, i have two videos which i highly
recommend. my middle school students give them two thumbs up! the first
is Sadako and the thousand cranes, a true and very moving story about a
japanese girl who initiated an international peace project. actually, there
are two videos as part of a set - one is the story and the other shows how
to make the cranes in simple, easy to follow steps. there is a book you
can get, too. i got them all from my local library. the second video is
part of a 3 video set. it is called the mind's eye ( the others are gate to
the mind's eye and beyond the mind's eye; i like the first the best). they
are all computer animated fantasy graphics set to jazz/new age type music.
my kids watch them and turn in sketches from different scenes. they rave
about the video. i got the whole set of these video from the local media
play.
thanks for your help!
