Re: harvest idea

Almost every culture that is agricultural (as opposed to hunter/gatherer) has
some rite, festival, dance, or day related to harvest.

What first comes to mind is the Jewish festival of Succoth. Check any good
encyclopedia, especially if on Judaica.

I have a fleeting knowledge of some of the dances and songs in England, some
going back to pre-Christian, aka Celtic, times. Cannot quote any thing
specific, but a search on the Internet for Agricultural Festivals might help.
Also contact the Country Dance and Song Society in Northampton, Mass. Sorry I
don't have more than that, but phone directory should help.
