So many classroom teachers are afraid to go beyond "pumpkins in October"
because they have never been taught the "language of art"....they can't seem
to form the skills without the vocabulary and real world references to
images. I teach pure, uncomplicated DBAE workshops to both classroom and
art teachers alike to help them learn the language and how to decode images.
Then we move beyond that to the questioning process and critical thinking
skills they can use with their students......they have been
(theoretically)..."image handicapped", and need practice and coaching to get
beyond that old comfort zone, but once there... WOW!!!
