Paper mache masks - 'Leni

This response is to 'Leni about masks - for some reason I can't send to AOL -

We use scrap cardboard (scoring and notching to fold, bend...), any plastic
discards (film canisters jar lids...) taped to the cardboard, wire, wire
covered in foil, rolled paper towels, TP tubes...
We cover it all (except wires they want to leave bare) with foil before paper
maching, the first few strips really don't stay down, the more strips (not
layers) you get down the better it is.
The masks are more sculptural than functional... they have the option of
leaving eye holes, but as long as they have the elements of the facial
structure, that's okay.
