Hi..............Try Dale Seymour Publications in Palo Alto, CA for their
poster of Symmetry in Wheels and teacher worksheet for $8-$9. Old hubcaps
found free at an auto dump or cheap hubcaps you can buy at K-Mart/Target
can be used to discuss radial design..be it rotational or reflective. I use
several radial design projects with my 7th/8th grade ART N' MATH classes.
We also make 3D hexagonal kaliedocycles that rotate by hand. Another
project idea is trihexaflexagons and then hexahexaflexagons. Look up Martin
Gardner's books and you will find flexagons---different kinds. I've taught
all of my radial design lessons with 3rd to 9th grades and they can work
with just about any grade level.
