A wonderful contemporary song that would be perfect is 'World' by Five for
Fighting.
Good luck!

Hello all,
Every year I try to put together a slideshow of our Pinwheels for Peace
photos. I am always seeking good music to accompany it. I know there is an
official Pinwheels for Peace song, which I have purchased and downloaded
from the website, but I like to have lots of options.
In the past I have used:
"What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong;
"What a Wonderful World/Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo Ole'(this was
a perfect sonf for my purposes! So gentle and happy...);
"Peace Train" by Cat Stephens (I know he goes by a different name now)(This
song was also perfect!);
"I have a Dream" (an Abba song from the Mama Mia soundtrack);
"You've got a friend in Me" theme from Toy Story (also found in my iPhoto
slideshow options);
the Charlie Brown theme song (also found in my iPhoto slideshow options);
a few world beat songs from various Putamayo cds....

Any other suggestions?
Hope my list us helpful to someone else...

How about:

Kira Willey Colors (from that old Dell Commercial)

Jack Johnson We're Going to Be Friends, The Sharing Song or With My Two
Hands (my favorite) from the Curious George soundtrack. - I'm off to see
his concert in Berkley on Wed! I'm so excited!

Thanks for the suggestions, Cheryl! :-)
I am not familiar with any of these, so I'm off to spend some quality time
with iTunes!
I really enjoy Jack Johnson's sound..so soothing and mellow...how cool that
you are going to a concert! Have fun!
I just found out that Keller Williams is releasing a kids tunes album later
this month--I'm so excited! Can't wait to hear it all! Keller and I went to
HS together, so I am always thrilled to see how successful he is as a
musician and what a large following he has. He has a soothing, mellow
voice/style, too.
I just saw a video of a song about hula hooping (from Keller's new
album)...since we "plant" our pinwheels in hula hoops, I might be able to
put that song to use. Plus it features kids in it--gotta love that!
I am so appreciative that you offered me some options to explore. Again,
thank you!
