Jeryl,

>>1. I am required to give grades to every student at each marker quarter with either a 1-4 score. 4=90-100% 3=80-90% 2+70-80% and 1=60-70 which is below passing, and is either incomplete, missing, or very poorly done
>> 3. Do you have a required number of assessments for each nine
>> weeks? or a semester? -I have a quarterly assessemt every two months or so, 4 times a year which is broken down into k-2 and 3-5. However every grade is assessed, The assessments are formal because i have to set yearly goals and have accountability for their work. So for instance, one of my goals is to teach them the elements and principles and have 75% of my students achieve a level 3 or 4 demonstrating their competency at that level. Creating the formal assessments is incredibly time consuming, but its the only way we can keep art in the school. Plus, my yearly goals have to tie in to the core subjects so I have to assess for that. Its really assessments up the wazoo!
>> 4. I see 300 students grades k-5 once a week for 45 minutes
>> 5. New York
Hope that helps

-Tara
