For the Shading project, I was referring about 7th and 8th Graders. They are
not getting that in order to create 3-Dimensionality in an object they need
to apply highlights and shadows...they ask me where? And I say where ever you
see a shadow, but they still seem confused. I have not put out a strong
light source because I could not drag it to school.
The 8th Graders used charcoal a bit today, and they started to understand
better and explore the concept as much as they could.I am also going to show a
powerpoint on MC Escher.
Does anyone have any mandala info. handouts or easy access to information. I
would like to have the 7th or 8th graders create halloween mandalas instead
of making pumpkin's from plates. I am not sure how this will work out but
it's worth a try?
Or maybe they could make some wire sculpture spiders to hand from the
ceiling? I would like each grade to contribute one thing so that we create a
halloween inspired artroom and hang various objects from the ceiling.
