Hi Leah,
Would you mind explaining how you will be doing the "solar" part of your
fountain? As for the basin, there is a terrific book on casting with
concrete titled:

"Creating with Concrete; yard art, sculpture and garden projects" by
Sherri Warner Hunter.
ISBN:1-57990-179-4

It has some very cool techniques for creating fountain basins; which can
then be decorated with mosaic or tile work.

  Has anyone on the list made a fountain with their students? I know
more or less how to do the solar part but I'm trying to figure out how
to create the basin. Would a pond liner decorated with student made
