I need some advice. Last year I had a very low level beginning high
school art class. There were more than the average amount of special
ed students, two autistic students and many behavior problems. The
first two projects bombed so I tried a lesson using Lichenstein as
inspiration and super heroes as the subject. I gave students coloring
book super heroes and a 2x3 inch view finder. They had to find a
Lichenstien type of composition in the view finder. I had them cut it
out, grid it and enlarge it. They had to add text to fit their
subject. They painted in a primary color scheme, outlined them in
thick black marker. The kids were so proud of them. This project gave
these kids confidence and then they were able to achieve other
successes. My new classes keep asking when we will do the super hero
project. Is it ok to use these pictures, or is it a copyright issue?
