Dear Art Educators,

Here is an artist to add interest to you Northwest Coast Units - Brian Jungen:
http://thetyee.ca/gallery/2006/01/25/BrianJungen/index.html

Brian is a Vancouver artist of Native American descent. He is a member
of the Doig River band, of the Dunne-za Nation in Northern BC.

A Google search for Brian Jungen brings up some additional images.
Masks are assembled from Air Jordan shoes.
Read about Jungen:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Jungen
"Jungen's series Prototypes of New Understanding consists of
aboriginal masks assembled from parts of Nike Air Jordan shoes and
hand-sewn."

Jan Hillmer posted him to ArtsEducators list.
