This is so funny. I just saw the exact same description for "sfumato."
as you saw for "stomato."
So, is the blurring of edges into atmostpheric effects and the
feathering of one color into another "sfumato" or "stomata"? ???
Inquiring minds want to know. Is there a song that goes something like,
"You say sfumato and I say stomata, You say potato and I say potahto,
sfumato, stomato, potato, potaahto, let's call the whole thing off."
???? Did Frank Sinatra sing that song??? It's from the 50s or early
60s. I know it was really tomato, tomahto sounds, but if the shoe fits,
wear it??? Feel better, Christine. I had the creeping crud last week.
I felt so sfumatoed. Took me almost two weeks to totally shake it. Had
to go on antibiotics.
