glaze ideas

Someone on this list posted 5 or 6 years ago an idea I have used a lot. I
use clear glaze and add stain or oxides to it. I mix these in a blender - about
1 cup clear glaze (commercial) with 1/2 to 1 tsp of oxide or stain. I
usually do the mixing and put these in those ziploc containers - which work so great
for storing glazes. They don't seem to dry out as quickly as using margarine
or yogurt containers, and come in many sizes. If the glaze mix gets a
little dry I just add a little water. I've been buying the gallon size clear
glaze but will check out larger container sizes. This semester I think I'll mix
my own clear glaze and see if I have as good results - will try this at home
first! I loved the velcro tile samples idea. Genie Holt
