My art room has a wall of north light windows. Then it gets more interesting.
One wall is painted a deep burgundy. Another is a rich gold, then comes rust.
The ceramics room has bright blue, chartruese, and rust. These rooms are the
only interesting colors in the school. It is a wonder that we got permission
to do this. There is little space for artwork. Cabinets are everywhere so the
room colors make it alive. I have flourescent slinkys looped across the
ceiling. Next will come the ceramic wind chimes we are making. I don't know if
admin. will let them stay up. In my last room, I had painted shoes on the ceiling
and the door was painted "Starry Night". There is no question that the kids
KNOW they are in the art room!!!
BTW, you need to know that painted ceiling tiles, as great as they look, cut
down on a lot of reflected light and the room will seem darker.
