marcia - you do not scratch through glaze usually you scratch through
another color slip applied to the greenware and then scratch through to
see the color of the clay body... you can make colored slip using the slip
rom your throwing water and some oxides like red iorn or even a mason
stain of your choice....add a bit to slip let the slip dry and then
