I am doing Eric Carle collages now with 2nd grade. Ours will be large collabrative collages to sell at our Silent Auction. My students painted some beautiful colored tissue paper. It dried fairly flat, but to make it easier for my little guys to work with, I ironed the paper and spray mounted it to large white pieces of construction paper. The kids are drawing thier insects and parts of the collage on the white back and then cutting and glueing. So far it's working beautifully.
