I totally agree, Lynn. I did not work up a model for my wood project
with my 5th graders. I just put the stuff out for them, taught them to
use the saws, and let them go. We are just now wrapping it up. Pictures
soon. We all had fun figuring it all out together. I'm not embarrassed
to tell kids we are trying something out together,and I agree that they
are really psyched when they are the first class to do a new project.
Besides that, you don't ALWAYS have time to work up a new unit with all
the "stuff" that we have to do. I always have my research done, my
motivation done, but the figuring out is good for them.
