Darla,
  The Daniel Smith catalogue has a barrier cream that might help you.
It's called Daniel Smith Cactus Brand Protective Cream - if you don't
have a catalogue, go to www.danielsmith.com. The cream is $7.95 for a
16 oz. bottle. I've used various barrier creams when I've been oil
painting or making prints and it really saves your hands!
