Here's a lesson idea i adapted from A&A. I haven't tried it yet, but I will
be trying it out in the beginning of next year. I will probably use it for 8th
grade. See what you think.
I purchased a bunch of swimming pool noodles. The bright foam pool things.
I"m going to set them up in a still life that twists a bit and overlaps. Next,
students will draw them from observation using a viewfinder. Then on watercolor
paper they will shade them using values to create a 3d tube using watercolor
pencils. THen wet the color pencil work.
Final step would be to do a traditional watercolor wash in the negative
space. Kosher salt and alcohol could be used in the background for textural
effects.
