I do not use rubber cement in my ele classroom. There really is no project that warrents the use of ir. I use tacky glue. I either buy tacky glue or I use regualr white glue, let it sit out so the water can evaporate and it is just like tacky glue. Or, I use glue sticks.
I also try to educate other ele. teachers about using rubber cement. Pretty much now all of them use glue sticks.
