It is not something I would do. From an art education point of view, I do
not see the purpose of copying. (for older students from master works that is
different of course!) As I posted before, I do not do "parent pleasers". I
have done this kind of project with third graders and self-portraits. The
combination of dark paper, glue and chalk pastels looks very striking and yes, the
students who chose to display this piece in the art show got many complements,
but so did all the other works.
