I do a Georgia Okeeffe project (middle school)that I got from a friend, it
always turns out really good.
on black paper, study okeeffe, vocab: cropping, reduce, shape, subjective
color vs
non-object, pos/neg space, color: warm/ cool, creating value change with
complem.
first shaded sketch of flower, bone or shell, crop so all edges run off page,
reduce to basic shapes, transfer to black, put bead of glue on line (this
will create interesting black lines when dry), when dry, soft pastel in
shapes between glue (must use at least 3 colors in each shape) teach diff
sott pastel techniques, and blending. may use subjective or objective colors
older elem should be about to do as well.
hope this helps, Deborah
