Which reminds me ... I meant to tell you about how I do the
'warhol art'. It's essentially what AD has done here -- start
with a digital photo and put a watercolour wash over it. I have
students spend a period on the web finding a suitable celebrity
photo. They then take it into a graphics program like photoshop
and digitally turn it into a line drawing (a lot of fiddling can
be done at this stage). They then print out six copies and use
the watercolours (I usually limit them to four). Of course, prior
to everything they get the warhol lecture with examples ... this
is one where I also usually make a corel presentations
presentation that runs continuously and just cycles through
warhol works while the students are working on theirs ...
... I'm just thinking now that it might be interesting to take
digital photos of the students and let them warholize themselves
...
