The Surdna Foundation is pleased to announce the third year of the Surdna
Arts Teachers Fellowship Program to support the artistic revitalization of
outstanding arts teachers in specialized, public arts high schools. We are
asking for your help in disseminating information about the program to
eligible arts teachers, schools and leaders in the field of arts and
education that you have contact with.
Surdna's goal is to help arts teachers in arts high schools increase their
effectiveness as they guide and train young people for careers or advanced
study in the visual or performing arts. The Foundation believes that if
teachers can immerse themselves in their own creative work and interact with
professional artist/colleagues, they will bring new ideas and practices into
the classroom. Twenty awards of up to $5,000 each will be made. A
complementary grant of $1,500 will be awarded to the Fellow¹s school to
support post-fellowship activities.
Please distribute the attached program information and application material.
The deadline is November 22, 2002. Application material is also available
on our website: www.surdna.org/programs/artsteachersfellowships.html.
Nancy Long writes: "I have some dark wooden frames I had on my canvas
paintings, that I don't know what to do with. I decided I liked lighter
frames better. The sizes are 26x36, 28x34, 22x28, 16x22, and 14x16. Is it
possible for you to e-mail other members to see if another painter could use
them? If so, I could bring them to the conference." If you are interested,
contact Nancy for prices. email@example.com
