I had my 8th grade class use grids to enlarge masterpieces--photocopied from
those masterpiece coloring books--and then paint them in primary colors--with
one or two secondary colors for accents-- in the style of Lichtenstein. They
got pretty creative with their patterning and the results were terrific. For
a follow up writing assignment, each student had to research the original
artist/painting.
