There is a wonderful book out by Carol Grape called Handmade Jewelry: Simple
Steps to Creating Wearable Art. Some of the pieces she makes out of computer
parts, plastic tubing, assorted wires, screens, hardware, and doo-dads are
incredible--very beautiful, unique, and quite sophisticated. Most cost
pennies to make. You might want to check this book out.

There is another book whose title escapes my memory right now...if you are
interested, I will look for it at school. The artist/author takes rolled
paper beads to an entirely new level, creating tiny animals, people, etc. by
varying the shapes of the paper strips and the rolling patterns. Once again,
unbelievable results for pennies.

Also, what about stuffed and stitched jewelry or coiling to make elaborate
necklaces?
