administration? Catharine in Hong Kong >>
How sad that your administration did not support your wonderful input - seems
like
all children needed a token or talisman representing peace. You said that
your
students put out some of their best work - that is how my fifth grade Statue
of
Liberty paintings came out - such careful work - facial features are so
delicately
done - I didn;t realize how beautiful they all were till I hung them up all
together.
I was taken aback. One teacher of German descent cried when she saw my
childrens artwork. She said that the Statue of Liberty was the first thing
she
saw and remembers when she got off the boat at Ellis Island( with her Mother
who had $5.00 in her pocket- had lost touch with her Dad - later reunited
through the Red Cross.) I have to get these posted to the group - so proud
of them
all.
All we can do as teachers is follow our hearts and hope that we will touch
the hearts
of the administration and soften them in some way. Roberta
