abc's of art

Hi there!

I went to a workshop last year about thematic units
and I came acorss this the other day.
The idea is to teach the "ABC's" of Art. You make a
list of the alphabet... then out beside each letter
you make a note of things that are in art associated
with the first letter. The teacher who led the
workshop was an elementary teacher- so this might
benefit some others. I know that this might help out
some of the new teachers out there- (heck, it might
inspire one or two others on the list too:).. Here is
what we came up with as a class for example:

A: architecture, abstract
B: Batik, Bookmaking
C: Collage, Calder, CLay, Cutting
D: Drawing, Dali, Durer
E: Egyptian, Escher, Etchings, Embossing
F: Fresco, Frames, Florentine Art
G: Greek, Gauguin, Goya
H: Houses, Hopper
I: Impressionism, Intaglio, Inuit
J: Jasper Johns
K: Klee, Kandinsky, Kinetic
L: Loom, Line, Leonardo
M: Monoprint, Mosaic, Mandala, Mask, Michelangelo,
N: Native American
O: O'Keefe, Op Art, Origami
P: Picasso, Perspective, Proportion, Pop Art
Q: Quilting, Quilling
R: Ringold, Repitition, Romeare Bearden
S: Self Portrait, SUrrealism, Stenciling, Stella
T: Texture, Tessellations
U: Unity
V: Van Gogh, Value
W: Warhol, Watercolor, Wheels
X: Xtra Xtra! (recyling) X-ray for aboriginal art
Y: Yo Yo's, Yarn
Z: Zoom Zap Zam! (like Lichenstein with the words
coming out of mouths- think of Batman- Pow!) Zoo

I wonder what other words we can come up with to add
to my list. As you can see, i am lacking in the U's
and J's.
So, let's try a new thread.... what are your ABC's?
