Thanks everyone for your thought on art advocacy and quotes and links.
You've given me (a first year teacher) some great things to think about. I
agree with you that if I put up a bunch of boring statistics and stuff, most
parents won't read them. However, our school has population of parents who
eat up stats showing correlation between the arts and higher test scores,
etc. I plan on doing what Bunki and heyjude suggested: having the kids write
their own quotes and mixing them with quotes by other famous people/artists.
I really like the idea of giving out prizes for the ones I put up. Thanks
again for your thoughts. I'll share what the kids come up with.
