I think, though, that we all need to be aware of the advocacy work that's being done in art education. Sooner or later you will have to defend your position at the school or find a way to get more funding, hang onto your room in difficult times, etc.
We all need to be advocates of the arts and the more the parents and public are education toward this end, the better for all of us.
